About Newburg Oat

Newburg oat was released in 2011 by the North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station. The North Dakota Crop Improvement and Seed Association has rights to production and distribution of seed. Newburg is known for its excellent yield potential and performs very well in yield trials across ND. This variety heads approximately one day earlier than Rockford and is similar to slightly taller than Rockford. The test weight and protein levels of Newburg are average. To help ensure genetic purity, this variety is protected under Plant Variety Protection Title V and must be sold as a class of certified seed.
