About Rockford Oat

Rockford oat was released in 2008 by the North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station. The North Dakota Crop Improvement and Seed Association has rights to production and distribution of seed. Rockford performs relatively well under a variety of growing conditions across ND. Rockford is a consistent high yielding variety with very good lodging resistance and high test weight. Rockford has medium kernel weight, grain protein, and groat beta-glucan concentration. This variety also has medium groat percentage with high groat oil concentration. Rockford is susceptible to stem rust race NA67. To help ensure genetic purity, this variety is protected under Plant Variety Protection Title V and must be sold as a class of certified seed.
